India’s May Steel Consumption Rises 20% YoY to 9.4M Tons
India’s finished steel demand in May was also 4.2% higher than April, the country’s steel ministry said in a statement.
Crude steel production rose 17% y/y to 10.6m tons
Consumption and production last month was the highest May figures in at least five years
Finished steel exports in May fell 39% y/y to 749,000 tons, while imports slid 3.5% to 379,000 tons
Italy, Belgium, UAE, UK, Nepal, Spain and Turkey made for about 75% of India’s export markets during the month
Steel inventories at end-May reduced by 1.1% m/m to 7.89m tons
Mamaearth Plans IPO Next Year, Seeks Valuation of $3 billion
Sequoia Capital-backed skincare startup Mamaearth is in talks to raise at least $300m in an IPO next year, Reuters reports, citing unidentified people familiar with the matter.
Mamaearth is seeking a valuation of around $3 billion.
Company is in talks to appoint JPMorgan Chase, India’s JM Financial and Kotak Mahindra Capital as bookrunners.
Mamaearth, JPMorgan Chase declined to comment; M Financial and Kotak did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
