NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.
Shares of Alkem Laboratories(up 0.87 per cent), Lupin(up 0.69 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.32 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.31 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.05 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 3.76 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 3.17 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 2.07 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.46 per cent) and Laurus(down 1.36 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.07 per cent down at 12279.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 153.2 points at 16416.35, while the BSE Sensex stood down 567.98 points at 55107.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 36 closed in the red.
Shares of , ONGC, , MRPL and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
