NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Monday’s session.
K.P.I. Global Infras(up 6.75%), PIGL(up 4.95%), PTC India(up 4.20%), RTNPOWER(up 4.05%), Torrent Power(up 3.98%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 3.93%), Jyoti Structures(up 3.51%), Alstom T&D India(up 3.34%), Adani Transmissions(up 3.15%) and Inox wind(up 2.50%) stood among the top gainers.
Energy Development Company(down 3.17%), Inox Wind Energy(down 3.05%), KEC International(down 2.21%), SJVN(down 1.71%) and NHPC(down 1.01%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 229.3 points up at 16278.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 760.37 points at 54521.15.
Hindalco Industries(up 4.72%), IndusInd Bank(up 4.42%), Infosys(up 4.16%), Tech Mahindra(up 3.51%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.46%), Axis Bank(up 3.37%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 3.24%), UltraTech Cement(up 3.02%), Wipro(up 2.77%) and ICICI Bank(up 2.77%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Britannia Industries(down 1.92%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.76%), HDFC Bank(down 1.06%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.83%), Nestle India(down 0.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.78%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.58%) and HDFC(down 0.53%) closed in the red.
